Cleveland Browns Injury Rumors: Cornerback Joe Haden's Season Is Over Due to Concussion
Joe Haden's whirlwind season is over, with the Cleveland Browns announcing that the cornerback has been placed in IR with concussion issues, though he is expected to be back in action by 2016. Haden actually missed all but one of the previous eight games for his team after suffering a concussion against the Baltimore Ravens last October and once again in November in a game against Arizona.
According to team officials, the decision to place Haden in the injured reserve was brought by the fact that he no longer has enough time to pass the league's strict concussion protocol. Because he'll miss the remaining three games, it means that he's out for a total of 10 games this season.
In a statement released to the press, Haden thanked his team for giving him the attention he needed after getting the concussion two months ago. "This has been an extremely difficult season for me personally… We've all learned how important it is to be very thorough with concussions and I appreciate the care the Browns have provided me," he said.
This season hasn't really been fair to the two-time Pro Bowler, who missed a game early in the season after suffering a broken finger and a rib injury. Before that, he also experienced a pulled hamstring in training camp.
His absence was felt by the Browns in those games he missed. As a defensive stalwart, he couldn't help his team against the run and the pass, supported by the fact that they rank at the bottom of the league in various defensive categories.
