Cleveland Cavaliers Still A Work in Progress, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving Exchange Words in Locker Room
The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to a shaky start after acquiring their third loss agains the Portland Trail Blazers with a 101-82 final score. LeBron James' homecoming has not been exactly easy going, and it's partly because the team doesn't quite know how to play together yet. After their loss against the Trailblazers, James and Kyrie Irving had exchanged words in the locker room.
"There's a lot of bad habits, a lot of bad habits been built up the past couple years. When you play that style of basketball, it takes a lot to get it up out of you," James said.
Apparently, Irving and James discussed about the flow of their offense.
"LeBron James challenged Kyrie Irving to be a better playmaker following the Cavalier's blowout loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, league sources told Northeast Ohio Media Group," says Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com.
With James' return to the Cavaliers, everything the team is doing is being analyzed, which isn't to say that it was the same when James was still with the Miami Heat in his first season with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. There is one difference though, as James puts it.
"More anger behind the questions absolutely," he says.
"Our team, it's a work in progress, and when you have a lot of new players – particularly a lot of new, very talented players – sometimes it's a little harder to put together. If you look historically, that's sort of been the case in many of these situations," Cavaliers coach David Blatt said.
