Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors 2016: Eastern Conference Champs Look at Several Options Before Feb.18 Deadline

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently locked in at first place in the Eastern Conference, but it certainly appears they're not satisfied with what they have right now. The team is reportedly looking to add a wing player who can provide a better scoring option.

Several sources say that the Cavs are making some inquiries about the availability of several players, including the Sacramento Kings' Ben McLemore, Brooklyn Nets' Joe Johnson, and the Atlanta Hawks' Kyle Korver.

McLemore is the youngest of the three and was the seventh pick of the Kings during the 2013 NBA Draft. He didn't make that much of an impact in his first year in the league but has seen a lot of improvements as of late. This season, he is averaging close to 10 points a game and 2.7 rebounds. The Cavs are interested in the 6-foot-5 wing man probably because of his size and athleticism.

The veteran Johnson, on the other hand, is a different story since the Cavs may be able to get him without losing anything in return, provided he and his current team can agree on a buyout. His salary, though, is a huge question mark at this point, with the fact that he's due to make almost $25 million this season alone. It could be interesting if the Cavs can get him at a veteran's minimum, should he be interested of course.

Last on the list is Korver, who by the way should be the best shooter of the three options the Cavs are looking at. The only problem, though, is that Atlanta isn't close to letting him go, knowing that they have little or even nothing to gain in doing so. Everyone knew the Hawks tried to make Al Horford and Jeff Teague available for trade earlier this month but to no avail. Unless the team is looking toward overhauling the team and rebuilding, then there's little hope that Korver ends up in Cleveland.
