CMA Awards 2016 Updates and Preview: Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley to Host the Event; Joseph Kahn Working on a Star-Studded Music Video
Country music superstar Dolly Parton is chosen to receive a Willie Nelson Lifetime Award during the golden year anniversary of CMA on November.
The Willie Nelson Lifetime Award is the most prestigious award a country singer is given in recognition of her technological and cultural advancement over the years.
In celebration of CMA's 50th year in the country music industry, this year's overall event is revved up twice than the past years' productions. As a tribute, an all-star cast music video entitled "Forever Country" will feature 30 award-winning acts in the course of five decades. Directed by Joseph Kahn, 43, "Forever Country" is now available at forevercountry50.com for download.
In an interview, Kahn said that he is comfortably working on the video. He's had experience doing a country music video before so he is pretty much sure he knows what he is doing.
The clock is ticking; and with only a few weeks before the 50th Annual CMA Awards, the hosts and performers are now in various stages of preparation for the star-studded event.
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, this year's hosts, will have solo performances as well as fellow nominees Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Maren Morris and Keith Urban.
Bentley is nominated for several awards such as Album, Music Video, and Male Vocalist of the Year this coming November. Over the years, Bentley has won several awards on 2005 and 2014.
Church has been nominated several times since 2011, 22 nominations to be exact. So, his nominations on Album and Male Vocalist of the Year are no surprise.
The first-time nominee singer and song writer Morris is nominated for five categories, including Female Vocalist of the Year for the multi-awarded "My Church" song. There is no better way breaking into the music industry other than bagging several trophies for yourself.
In a joint effort, singers who have won awards since the very first Country Music Awards back in '70s released footage and interviews about their CMA experience.
