Courteney Cox Engaged to Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid

Actress Courteney Cox is engaged to Snow Patrol singer Johnny McDaid. The former "Friends" star tweeted the good news with a picture captioned simply, "I'm engaged to him!" McDaid quickly tweeted the photo as well with the news, "I'm engaged to her!"

The two have been together for six months and despite their age difference -- she is 50 and he is 37 -- the two look completely happy together. Cox and McDaid spent her 50th birthday on a vacation in Turks and Caicos. She just wrapped up a new film, "Just Before I Go," which she directed.

"I've had a lot more support from him than him just being here tonight," Cox told People at the film's premiere in April. "Snow Patrol wrote three original songs for this movie. I'm really fortunate. It's amazing, all the musical things that he brought to it. I couldn't be happier. It really elevates the film in so many ways."

"Courteney is the most completely confident person I've ever met – at everything," McDaid told Us Weekly. "She gets music. She gets art. She gets the way a scene gets constructed, the way dialogue works. And she puts it all together in her mind and then explains it to the world and makes movies that make people laugh and cry, squirm and jump, all those things."

Cox was famously married to actor David Arquette and the two have one daughter, 10-year-old Coco. Their divorce was finalized in 2013, after they announced their separation in 2010 and filed the paperwork in 2012.

"Irreconcilable difference have caused the irremediable breaking of the marriage," papers filed by the couple stated. "The marital status of the parties is terminated."

The two decided to co-parent daughter Coco and have maintained an amicable relationship when it comes to the young girl. Coco goes back and forth between the two families and spends equal amounts of time with her parents whenever possible.
