'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season Renewal Update: Series Star Remains Hopeful For Season 2 Amidst The Show's Awards
The renewal for the CW's critically acclaimed musical comedy TV series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is still hanging up in the air and its followers are still holding their breaths, hoping the network gives the show a green light. Like the fans, the series star is still waiting but shows the confidence that her recent winnings could nab them a Season 2.
In the latest edition of TVLine's segment, "Ask Ausiello," actress Rachel Bloom was quoted as saying that there's certainly a big possibility for the show to return and her basis - her two recent awards.
"I could eat those words and be disappointed and try to be shopping around this show next season and see who else will take it. But I think [the awards show success] bodes well for Season 2," Bloom, who plays Rebecca Bunch, said.
Her statement happens to echo what she told Entertainment Weekly last week.
"I'm hoping that the Golden Globe will help push us in that direction, I think it helps," she told the media outlet.
"Writing and creating this show scratches every single creative itch I have. It is the most satisfying thing I have ever done, maybe will ever do. So the more that I can do the show, the happier I am."
On top of her Golden Globe recognition for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy, the 28-year-old more recently received the Best Actress In A Comedy Series Award given by the Critics' Choice Television.
Back in her Golden Globe speech, the creator and writer of the new show recalls the process they experienced just for them to make the scripted program fly on air. She revealed that they got rejected six times in one day. Eventually, The CW picked the series up.
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 1 continues this Monday, Jan. 25, with the episode titled "I'm Going To The Beach With Josh and His Friends."
