Dallas Cowboys Injury News: Tony Romo Injured Again, Out for the Season
The struggling Dallas Cowboys saw a glimmer of hope when star quarterback Tony Romo returned from his injury to play against the Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving afternoon. But after losing in a one-sided affair, 33-14, the Cowboys saw their hopes of grabbing the last spot for the playoffs disappear when the quarterback re-injured the very same left clavicle after getting sacked.
Team owner Jerry Jones confirmed on Friday that Romo did suffer from a hairline fracture, but the good news is that there is no need for surgery to repair it. There are only five more games in the regular season for the Cowboys and Romo will miss all of them. As a matter of fact, he only was able to play in two complete games so far this year.
So instead of hoping to reach the playoffs this season, they may have to think about what they should do to address Romo's loss, as well as how they should proceed next season.

Of course, it's a huge blow for the team and their fans, especially those who have purchased tickets to the team's home game, hoping to see Romo's return to the lineup.
With the star QB's absence, Matt Cassel will be filling in the spot for the rest of the season. He was instrumental for a late touchdown scored by Dallas when Romo went down, but Carolina's lead at that point was already insurmountable.
It was linebacker Thomas Davis who sacked Romo and the veteran said that what he felt was eerily similar to the one he suffered after breaking his collarbone in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. "Going to the ground you could hear something happen," he said. "You're just disappointed and feel like I don't know what's going to happen. We'll see," the 35-year-old star said.
