Dallas Cowboys Rumors 2016: Joseph Randle Gambled in Sports Before Getting Cut, According to Report
The NFL has particularly strict rules regarding sports gambling, which explicitly says that players are prohibited from engaging in such. So when the news broke out that former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was already gambling on sports before he was cut by the team last season, it has confirmed earlier reports that it was the very reason why he was let go in the first place.
Dallas got rid of Randle last Nov. 3, or before the season ended. It was later revealed by team owner Jerry Jones that officials discovered he was betting on sports even before the season began. Although when asked if the team had any proof that the running back indeed bet on NFL games, Jones admitted they still don't have any as of the moment.
Jones added that they only knew about the gambling problems during the season and not before it and that there is no single evidence showing Randle compromising any games from the team last season.

Randle had a promising start with the Cowboys last season when he was designated as the starting running back, although he eventually lost this position to Darren McFadden. His agent, Erik Burkhardt, is no longer representing him and he definitely has fallen so hard that it seemingly looks like his career might be over.
The former fifth round pick of the 2013 NFL Draft has had several issues in the past before the gambling allegations. Back in October 2014, he made the headlines after getting arrested when he attempted to steal stuff from a Dillard's department store, including a pack of underwear and cologne, although the charge of misdemeanor was eventually dismissed. Four months after that store incident, he was cited for marijuana possession after a separate domestic violence incident in a Wichita hotel. Although the charges were also dropped, the league suspended him for four games.
