The Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills come into this Sunday afternoon's game without anything to gain, at least for this season. Both teams are already out of the playoff race and the only thing that should motivate them is the kind of future that lies ahead. Rex Ryan's defense hasn't been a revelation this season — it has been more of a disappointment, whatever angle you look at it. The Cowboys, meanwhile, are expected to start Kellen Moore at quarterback. The result is a toss-up.
Although the Cowboys are on a two-game losing streak, they still have a persistent pass rush with Greg Hardy and DeMarcus Lawrence leading. These two are going to be visible thorns to a Bills offensive line that's badly wounded.
A matchup to look forward to in this one is Buffalo's defensive line against Dallas' offensive line. The Cowboys contend each night with Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, and La'el Collins, but they'll have to do more against the Bills' defense in the running and passing games.
But the guy to see in this game is Kellen Moore, who is expected to be in his first start as a member of the Cowboys. It's interesting to see how he performs in this one, especially with the fact that every quarterback in Jerry Jones' team has struggled all season long.
For the Bills, they've allowed a little over 130 running yards for the past four games. If they allow Darren McFadden to receive the ball in this game, they're doomed. It does not help to know that he's been averaging more than 100 yards in his previous couple of games.
For head coach Rex Ryan, this game should be a chance to redeem oneself having praised defense as a priority for his team. But so far, the Bills got nothing to show.
