'Dancing With the Stars' Season 22 News: Rivera Goes Home as Source Says Barton Is Struggling for Real
This week's episode of "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 was sad for Geraldo Rivera as he was the first to be eliminated in the season.
According to U.S.A Today, Rivera dressed up as Donald Trump for his salsa number with Edyta Sliwinska but unfortunately, he didn't get the people's vote. While the performance wasn't that bad for some viewers, the veteran newsman took to Twitter and expressed his feelings about the elimination.
"Obviously disappointed by my performance @DancingABC - Mostly because wonderful partner @Edyta_Swilinska won't be centerstage. Big Thx to her," he posted.
As for Morris and Lindsay Arnold, the second week was just as amazing as the first. With a groovy salsa routine that spiced up the night, the pair gained 24 points.
One of the night's more noticeable performances was that of Paige VanZant and Alan Bersten. Originally, VanZant was paired with Mark Ballas but the latter incurred an injury that kept him from the second episode. Despite losing her partner, VanZant emerged with victory to tie with Morris and Arnold at the top.
Meanwhile, there is a lot of buzz surrounding the apparent stress that Mischa Barton is in. While she said earlier that she has danced a lot, it seems her dancing skills aren't doing well for her latest stint on live TV.
After her performance on the show's premiere, she admitted she has been having a hard time ever since she entered the hit dancing show. According to People, a source said the 30-year-old is giving it her best shot but "she's completely out of her element."
What's interesting is the source said Barton didn't have a passion for dancing unlike other contestants in the season who obviously want to learn and who want to win. She also didn't watch a lot of the show before being part of it - something which is crucial to many since watching a series one wants to be part of means gaining additional knowledge for the preparations before the competitions begin.
Barton's performance during the first episode was poorly received by not only the judges but the viewers. Some fans thought she was lacking energy and didn't have the charisma that Nyle DiMarco and Morris had.
"Dancing with the Stars" airs every Monday on ABC.
