Not only looking the part, the Academy Award winning actor is known to absorb the characters he is playing and fully transform into them.

The InSneider, of Variety sent a tweet saying, "Word around town is that DANIEL DAY-LEWIS hasn't broken his Lincoln accent since March. His real name doesn't even appear on the call sheet."

“Lincoln” began filming on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 for release in the fourth quarter of 2012 through Disney’s Touchstone distribution label. Although the pictures have driven the anticipation of the film Steven Spielberg won’t release the film until after the politically charged 2012 elections although it was scheduled to come out in December 2012.

“The movie will be purposely coming out after next year’s election,” said Spielberg. “I didn’t want it to become a political fodder.”

The film is based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's biography of Lincoln, “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” which follows Lincoln’s fight to abolish slavery and end the civil war.

“Lincoln” will not be a war movie, Spielberg assured. “There are battles in it, and being in Virginia, we have access to those historic battlefields. It is really a movie about the great work Abraham Lincoln did in the last months of his life.”

The biopic has a stellar cast, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson, Hal Holbrook and David Strathairn.
