'Daredevil' Season 2 Update: Series Stars Spill Details On Show's Upcoming Fight Scenes

Aside from the dark and gritty storyline, Netflix's hit superhero drama TV series "Daredevil" has been praised both by lay viewers and critics alike for the astounding fight scenes peppered all throughout the first season. Fluid and raw, the brutality is just but enough to showcase the adeptness of Charlie Cox's titular hero in the art of fighting.

A report from IGN.com revealed that more of this aspect will be featured in the new season. In fact, it will look back to that one iconic scene in Season 1 Episode 2 titled "Cut Man." In that particular episode, the Man Without Fear singlehandedly but gruellingly beat down a handful of criminals in a hallway. The scene was later on nicknamed as the "hallway scene." According to Cox, viewers should expect Season 2 to outdo that particular part.

"In terms of this season, there are a number of really good fights. There is one in particular that I'm really excited about because it's kind of like an homage to that scene, but it's almost like that scene on crack," Cox said during the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour and as quoted by IGN.

Jon Bernthal, who is slated to appear as the infamous Marvel anti-hero, The Punisher, chimed in to praise the people behind the show who make the feat possible.

"I think what is the genius of Phil Silvera, the fight coordinator and stunt coordinator who choreographs these fights, is the fights are all character-driven and the fights tell a story. It's not just to look pretty or to look cool," the "Walking Dead" star said.

Cox echoed Bernthal's statement, pointing out that it was not really about the action itself, but the "emotional engagement" of the viewers that made that Season 1 affair exceptional.

But fans are yet to see more of these breathtaking sequences. Cox added that the writers wanted to make sure that "every punch or kick that is thrown" is delivered "like a line of dialogue."

"…there is motive behind it, there is reason behind it, it means something…" the actor said.

Netflix's original series "Daredevil" Season 2 is slated to begin streaming Friday, March 18. Stay tuned for more updates.
