'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' News, Update: Phil Klemmer Sheds More Details On New Character

With only a few more hours left before its premiere airing, fans are still hankering for more information on The CW's upcoming superhero mashup drama TV show "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," and this time around, new information was dropped revealing what appears to be the important role this new character plays.

A few days ago, it was announced that "Firefly" actress Jewel Staite will be guest starring on the show as a character named Rachel Turner, a robotics expert and technical genius. Not much has been known about the new player in town until now.

In an interview during the recent Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Turner happens to be related to one of the familiar heroes in the "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff series.

In related news, series star Wentworth Miller revealed that many have been asking if they needed to watch the two CW parent shows for them to get a grasp of "Legends."

The "Prison Break" actor, who also plays Leonard Snart/Captain Cold in the Grant Gustin-starred show, revealed to IGN that there's no need to catch up on the episodes from the other related series.

"I don't think you need to watch Arrow and Flash to appreciate what it is Legends has to offer," he told the media outlet, adding that the show will be giving off a handful of backstories for each of the characters so that the viewers may know what is going on.

Don't miss "Legends of Tomorrow" premiering this Thursday, Jan. 21, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
