Deep Silver has announced that they will be releasing a beta version of "Dead Island 2" for 30 days exclusively to the PlayStation 4.

The game's publisher Deep Silver confirmed the PS4 release, and according to the FAQ on the game's official website, the game is going to be available on PC and Xbox One once the 30-day period is up.

Deep Silver has yet to announce the start date for the 30-day promo, though and they have kept mum on the details on what differentiates the beta version from the final version of the game.

However, to avail the "Dead Island 2" beta, players need to have preordered "Escape Dead Island," the spinoff released in November. Deep Silver has yet to announce if there are any other ways for players to get a copy of "Dead Island 2" beta aside from that, though they will be likely to announce their plans as the weeks pass.

For those who have availed "Escape Dead Island," a code that came with the purchase can be inputted into the official website of "Dead Island 2" for when the beta version gets released, according to Digital Trends. Gamers will be given further instructions as well as a two-week warning ahead of time.

"Dead Island 2" is being developed at Yager studio, which was responsible for the 2012 game "Spec Ops: The Line," which was praised greatly for its storytelling. This will be a departure from the usual collaboration with Polish studio Techland who was responsible for the previous versions of the game, 2011's "Dead Island" and 2013's "Dead Island Riptide."

There has been no set release date for the final version of "Dead Island 2" on game consoles and the PC, though reports have stated that it will most likely drop next year. So far, it has been reported to drop on April 2015, though time will tell if Deep Silver will push on.

There are more "Dead Island" games in the works, according to Game Spot. Deep Silver is also developing the "Dead Island Epidemic" as well as a "Dead Island" movie with Lionsgate.
