'Deadly Premonition' Now Playable on Xbox One Through Backward Compatibility
Xbox One owners can now play "Deadly Premonition" through Backward Compatibility.
This much was revealed by Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb, who is popularly known as Major Nelson. Hryb took to Twitter to reveal that "Deadly Premonition" is now backward compatible.
For those who are unaware, "Deadly Premonition" was released back in 2010 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It was designed, written, and directed by Hidetaka Suehiro, who was also behind "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die."

The game is a third-person, open-world survival horror game and follows FBI agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates a murder that took place in a small rural town called Greenvale. Morgan must do all sorts of detective work like searching for clues and questioning witnesses. But, as he begins to solve the mystery behind the Raincoat Killer, he becomes privy to Greenvale's secrets and the supernatural activities around town.
Known for its atypical combination of horror and comedy, "Deadly Premonition" was received quite well upon its initial release. The Xbox 360 version of the game currently holds a 68 rating on Metacritic, indicating mixed or average reviews. However, its user score on the same website is much more favorable at 8.2.
Players who already own the game on Xbox 360 can now begin playing "Deadly Premonition" on Xbox One. This can be done in one of two ways: either download a digital copy or simply insert the physical disc on the console. The digital copy can be found in the Ready to Download area, which is in the My Games and Apps section.
A director's cut was also released in 2013 but only for the PlayStation 3 and PC. This means players on the Xbox One will not be able to play the complete version of the game since the director's cut never made it to the Xbox 360.
