The upcoming film is expected to present a dark and unusual sense of humor, leaning toward a more mature content compared to most Marvel films. Reynolds will be joined by several other actors such as T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

The film will be directed by Tim Miller, who recently shared some details about the upcoming film during an interview with Bootleg Universe Pitch Show. He said, "The original plan was for it to be an R-rated movie which means you know it can't have a giant budget that some of the other films did. So I knew we would have to be clever about it. Coming from a visual effects background I'm not afraid to use it, I'm not afraid to have visual effects play a major role and be up front and center. We would do a lot of visual effects to enable us to get that big budget feel, but still contain things."

"Deadpool" is expected in theaters by February 2016.
