'Degrassi' Season 15 Premiere News, Details: Series Creator Shares Details On Upcoming Season
After their departure from TeenNick, the hit Canadian teen soap "Degrassi" is now coming to Netflix for its 15th season which will now be called "Degrassi: Next Class."
Fans can now start marking their calendars as it has already been announced that the show will premiere on Jan. 15 next year. It was also learned that the upcoming season will continue the hanging plotlines that Season 14 left. However, according to the franchise creator, there will certainly be new aspects that the show will feature in its 20 brand new episodes.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Linda Schuyler, who also serves as executive producer of the series, revealed that fans will find both the old and new characters working their way into the sometimes chaotic and oftentimes enjoyable world of social media.

"They're having to learn the social media protocol as they go along, and it's a protocol that their parents don't even understand," Schuyler said about the new edition of the drama.
Nonetheless, the show will still touch on the old-time favorite and true to life topics like "teenage angst over falling in and out of love" filled with "hookups, breakdowns and new life lessons" in between, the site wrote.
Schuyler added to THR that apparently, there's a lot of "common experience" that all teenagers from across the many generations (like the 80s, the 90s, the millennials, or the Generation Z) have shared and this is exactly what "Degrassi" wants to keep telling to the audience.
For those who missed it, Entertainment Weekly shared the details on some of the newcomers who will be shaking things up at Degrassi Community School. Heading the list is Jamie Bloch's Yael Baron, followed by Chelsea Clark as Esme Song; Dante Scott as Vijay Maraj; Soma Bhatia as Goldi Nahir; and Amir Bageria as Baaz Nahir.
In the Canadian airwaves, "Degrassi: Next Class" will air on the Family Channel.
