'Destiny 2' News: Xur Is Back And He's Offering Up New Exotic Equipment

Everyone's favorite exotic equipment vendor is now back and for the first time "Destiny 2" players don't have to Google his location. Xur, Agent of the Nine, has returned to the world of "Destiny" and he brings with him four pieces of new exotic equipment.

Getting great loot in Bungie's hit first-person alien shooter means hunting down Xur, the mysterious squid-faced weapons merchant. The vendor appears once a week serving his shadowy master by selling players rare items. And this week, he once again brings a number of sweet offerings.

For all classes, there's the Merciless fusion rifle. The rifle is currently considered one of the best exotic weapons to equip for players braving the Leviathan Raid that just started this week.

Aside from the Merciless fusion rifle, three class-specific armors are also among Xur's bag of goodies this week, all of which come from the choice of three exotics players get in the game's campaign.

For Hunters there's the Raiden Flux chest piece, Titans get the Doom Fang Pauldron Gauntlets, and Warlocks get the gaudy Wings of Sacred Dawn. The stats of each of these items is affected by the players current light level and can only be purchased with Legendary Shards which are gained from breaking down a purple gear.

Acquiring these shards has been quite easy with the game being a little more generous in terms of loot. Changing the required currency from Strange Coins, a semi-rare currency found in the first game, also allows more players to get their hands on Xur's exotic equipment.

"Destiny 2" has made it much easier to track down the elusive merchant who in the first game, would show up in a random location in the game's social hub. This time, Xur's location now shows up on the players' map removing the need to seek help from search engines to find out his current location.

"Destiny 2" is currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
