'Doctor Strange' Update: First Look Photo of Benedict Cumberbatch Released, Superpowers Detailed
Fans who have been on the constant lookout for updates on the upcoming Marvel Comics film "Doctor Strange" have now all the more reason to be excited about it. According to The Guardian, the first images of Benedict Cumberbatch as the superhero Doctor Strange have surfaced on the Internet already.
There is no need to guess how Cumberbatch will look like as the photo released by Entertainment Weekly showed the British actor donning opulent robes of the Sorcerer Supreme. The character's trademark goatee, magical amulet and high, wide collar are also featured, resembling closely the look of Doctor Strange in the famed Marvel comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. A magical spell is also seen at his fingertips.

During the shoot, Cumberbatch stated that he was just getting used to the role. "I've got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically," Cumberbatch said.
To those who are not aware yet, "Doctor Strange" is about the talented but arrogant neurosurgeon, Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange. After a tragic car accident that left him with damaged hands, Doctor Strange discovers the hidden world of alternate dimensions and magic, which he fortunately uses to combat evil.
Cinema Blend noted that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige detailed an overview of the powers that are expected to be in the film. He said that Doctor Strange will cast spells. He will also have a Cloak of Levitation that lets him fly, although, not like how Thor or Superman flies.
Doctor Strange will also have the ability to create "mandalas of lights," which can be utilized as shields and occasionally weapons. The amulet known as the Eye of Agamotto will also play a big role.
Other cast members include Mads Mikkelsen, who will play the main antagonist, and Rachel McAdams, who will play as a former colleague of Strange.
"Doctor Strange" is set to arrive in theaters on Nov. 4, 2016.
