'Doctor Who' Season 10: New 'Brain-Exploding' Writers Coming, According to Showrunner Steven Moffat
"Doctor Who" boss Steven Moffat has announced that "mind-blowing" writers are on board for Season 10 of the popular British sci-fi TV series, saying, "If I told you their names, your brain would explode," CNET reports.
The executive producer and writer spoke to the press at this week's London screening of the "Doctor Who" Christmas special, which this year is titled "The Husbands of River Song." The episode, which will be broadcast on Christmas Day in the U.K., sees the return of River Song, Doctor Who's wife, played by Alex Kingston.
Kingston previously played the role in 2013's "The Name of the Doctor," opposite Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor. "The Husbands of River Song" will be the first time Kingston acts alongside Peter Capaldi, the current Doctor Who. Capaldi, who was also at the screening, is set to board the Tardis into a new season of "Doctor Who" sometime in 2016.

During the question-and-answer session at the screening, Capaldi was asked about his favorite episode in the latest season of "Doctor Who." "They all have extraordinary things in them," he answered. He also said that he is "very conscious that one's time as Doctor Who is finite, so every episode is special."
About the new season, Moffat said, "We're already moving." "We've had meetings today with two writers who've never written 'Doctor Who' before," he revealed. Though he wouldn't say their names, the "Doctor Who" showrunner gushed about the new writers, saying that they are "brilliant, prominent and amazing."
"The Husbands of River Song," the "Doctor Who" special Christmas episode for 2015, will hit theaters in the U.S. on Dec. 28 and 29. Apart from the episode itself, the Christmas special will feature an exclusive interview with Alex Kingston and a making-of featurette with Moffat, Capaldi, and other stars of the show.
