'Doctor Who' Season 9 Finale Spoilers: Series Creator Shares Details On The Doctor's Transformation
BBC's hit supernatural drama TV series "Doctor Who" is now set to air its Season 9 finale and fans can't help but hanker for more information about what's to come in this episode.
It should be a known fact already that Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor is still struggling with the loss of his trusty companion, Clara (Jenna Coleman), in the previous episodes. The penultimate segment particularly showed him so alone and bereft for the loss of his friend.
However, in this weekend's airing of the show, viewers will find him back to his home planet of Gallifrey not as himself, but that of someone who is so frustrated and is about to explode.
The synopsis shared at Carter Matt for the episode titled "Hell Bent," gave hints as to the current emotional state of the Time Lord after everything was taken from him, "betrayed him," "trapped him," and "broke both his hearts."
In his interview with Radio Times, executive producer Steven Moffat said that all these events will push the character to become a "mad, bad, dangerous bastard."
"It's called Hell Bent for a reason. As has been threatened occasionally in the series, what happens when he gets really mad? Well, this is it. Yes, he goes back to Gallifrey, and he goes back in a very bad mood," Moffat teased.
The EP further likened the 12th's present attitude as "a bit Clint Eastwood," where bad things happen when you push him enough.
In Gallifrey, the episode summary went on to mention about the Hybrid. As to what it is, Screen Rant divulged that a Hybrid is someone who has the combination of two warrior bloodlines making him/her capable of going toe-to-toe with the Time Lords. Fans may remember the 12th admitting that he is actually a half human and half Time Lord. This is surely an intense showdown between him and those who will come against his way.
"Doctor Who" Season 9 Finale airs Saturday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. on BBC One.
