'Dragon Quest VIII' Soon Available on Nintendo 3DS (VIDEO)
Square Enix has announced "Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King" will soon be coming to Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
Popular role playing video game, "Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King," is scheduled to be released on Nintendo 3DS by August 27 this year, Japanese games publisher, Square Enix has said.
Square Enix has been working on a remake of the internationally best-selling video game series, and chose "Dragon Quest VIII" for a 3DS version.

The game's return to the handheld device will feature new scenarios, and include StreetPass support, a soundtrack played by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, voiceovers, and new party members: Garda, a female thief, and Morrie from "Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road."
Players will also be gifted with a host of incentives from a number of Japanese retailers, including Yangus' Candy Cane spear – a weapon that causes damage on metallic monsters; a Healie T-shirt from Amazon Japan to help players recover HP as they walk; an Aeon Healie cap for increased dexterity and maximum HP; a Game Tsutaya Golden Bamboo Spear worth 5,000 gold; a 7-Eleven Lucky Pendant for dodging enemy attacks, and a Yodobashi Camera Metal Slime shield to provide mild defense against magic attacks.
The traditional Japanese RPG game, one of the series' biggest titles, will be selling for ¥5,980 ($50).
Initially released on PlayStation 2 in Japan in November 2004, "Dragon Quest VIII" made its way to North America a year later, with its success spurring a global iOS and Android ports launch in May 2014.
"Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King" has been voted by Famitsu magazine as the fourth best video game of all time, making more than 3 million in sales in Japan during the first week of its launch.
The North American release date for the game's Nintendo 3DS port has yet to be disclosed.
