Duchess Kate Pregnancy Bets Begin; Royal Couple Planning for Baby No. 2?

Kate Middleton is the subject of hundreds of bets being taken around the world as fans are already speculating when she will welcome her second child.

Middleton, also known as Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is already the mother of Prince George, who will turn 1-year-old later this month. Consequently, the rumor mill has already started over when Catherine and her husband, Prince William, will expand their family even further.

According to reports this week, there has been an upsurge in bets being taken as to when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make another baby announcement. A bookmaker has actually suspended all bets on the second royal baby following a flurry of wagers overnight, according to The Huffington Post UK.

"With Prince George's first birthday just around the corner, the latest gamble suggests that he could soon be joined by a little brother or sister," a spokesperson for Coral betting firm said.

"In fact, there could even be double celebrations in the Windsor household next Tuesday," the spokesperson added, referring to Prince George's July 22 birthday.

Notwithstanding, the royal couple has not discussed their plans for their family, and the palace refuses to comment on the pregnancy rumors. All speculation aside, a source close to the couple says they plan to give George a playmate soon enough.

"They don't say when," the insider added, according to People.com.

Interestingly, a former school friend of Kate's recently told an Australian magazine that the Duchess "confirmed" a second pregnancy.

"Kate's inner circle are buzzing with the news that she is pregnant," Jessica Hay told New Day. "I've heard if from several different friends of theirs now and they're saying that they think there's going to be an official announcement in weeks."

Until the announcement of a second pregnancy, the Duke and Duchess will continue enjoying their firstborn son.

"As for any new parent, it's exciting and a joy to be a part of," a palace source told People. "It's a wonderful thing going through your baby's first year."
