'Elementary' Season 4 Episode 10 Spoilers: Papa Holmes' Reconciliation Efforts Suffer Some Setbacks
Just as they are about to get this close to patching things up, new developments arise prompting Sherlock to once again doubt his father when the hit TV series "Elementary" Season 4 returns to CBS this week. Meanwhile, the sleuthing partners follow the trail of a double murder case which happens to be connected to a for-profit institution.
According to the synopsis provided over at The Futon Critic for the episode called "Alma Matters," Morland's attempts to earn his son's forgiveness will suffer a setback when Sherlock discovers a secret that the old man has kept for so long. Spoiler alert for those who missed the last airing of the show, Papa Holmes invited Sherlock's trusted companion for dinner. During the meeting, Morland had been asking some weird questions related to blood banks where he plans to store his blood for future use. Joan, a quick-thinking person herself, noticed the elderly's eating habits. Aside from that, Morland can be seen taking countless pills. Sherlock's sober companion deduced the old man has cancer.
Rummaging through the man's files, she saw no indication that the person had gone to chemotherapy. However, she did notice that Morland was with this certain woman. Further investigation led to a discovery indicating that the latter was murdered in a drive-by shooting. Joan thought that the couple was together when the assassination attempt happened and it was Sherlock's father who was the real target.

When Sherlock gets hold of the information, they have come to the conclusion that Mr. Holmes is not here in New York to patch things up with his estranged son but instead, to hide from those who are after him.
The TFC summary meanwhile said that while they still have to verify their theory about the newcomer, Holmes and Watson will be called on to investigate a couple of murders. The hints would eventually lead them to an educational institution which happens to practice an illegal recruitment process.
