'Empire' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Cookie Lyon and Lucious Do Battle For The Top
Fox's hit drama TV series "Empire" Season 2 airs this week with a brand new episode that will see Cookie Lyon going up against Lucious Lyon for a top spot in the music industry.
According to the synopsis posted over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "My Bad Parts," Lucious, who is more than eager to assert his dominance in the industry, will release a rap which calls on Hakeem to do a rap battle against his up and coming music artist, Freda.
Apparently, the challenge could put Lyon Dynasty in absolute disadvantage as the stake is quite high.
"If Freda wins, you can have Hakeem back!" Cookie said to Lucious in the promo trailer for the episode.
The spoiler report from Pennlive.com indicates that this face-off could end up to be a one-sided battle as fans mostly know that the younger son of the ex-spouses isn't quite good enough when it comes to spitting rhymes. The site however credited the character's adeptness in creating catchy songs and managing girl bands.
Freda Gatz, on the other hand, has been through a lot of battles which makes her a veteran when it comes to rapping.
Needless to say, it is a situation that even Cookie herself can attest to. In a preview cited by the website, the matriarch seems a bit skeptical about her son's decision to go up against Freda who is "an animal," while he is not accustomed to the field. If this fails, Cookie's plan to make the cookout going might be compromised.
Hakeem, on his part, feels pretty confident about the situation and went on to tell her that he's "on point like always."
The summary from TFC, meanwhile, speaks of another development, this time concerning Cookie who will be getting a special visit from her "spitfire sister," Candace. Jamal, around this time, will be working to get a major sponsorship deal while Anika will hear some "life changing news."
"Empire" Season 2 airs Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
