'Empire' Season 2 Spoilers: A New Character to Bring Trouble for the Lyon Family

More trouble can be expected for the Lyon family in the upcoming return of "Empire" season 2.

According to TV Line, a new character will be bringing more drama when the second season of "Empire" returns to the small screens. It was revealed that Morocco Omari, from the TV series "Homeland," will be joining the cast of "Empire."

Omari will be taking on the role of an FBI agent who will cause problems for Lucious Lyon. While he is expected to be a major recurring role, it was hinted that the character could become a series regular in the near future.

TV Line described his upcoming involvement in the series as a challenge for Lucious Lyon. It was stated, "It's expected that Tariq will go 'toe-to-toe' with Lucious — without any flinching. That's where his smooth style — tempered by 'an air of the streets' — will come in handy. He moves without remorse, yet will always offer a person what's fair before taking them out."

Meanwhile, fans are still wondering if another character will be back for season 2. Those who were fans of Jamal and Michael's relationship are wondering if the two will be seen getting back together in the future. The first season of the series saw the two broken up after Jamal's fame gained momentum. With that, the executive producer of "Empire," Ilene Chaiken, opened up about the fate of their relationship in another interview with TV Line.

She was able to reassure fans about what will happen between Jamal and Michael. She said, "We will see Michael again. So far Michael has been the great love of Jamal's life. And just because they hurt each other doesn't mean they're finished with each other."

However, fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see their favorite characters back on TV. After a three-month absence, episode 11 of "Empire" season 2 is expected air on Mar. 30.
