Cookie has gone through enough in the second season when Luscious (Terrence Howard) married Anika (Grace Gealey). Moving on, Cookie will find a new love interest in the upcoming season. It has been reported that she will meet Angelo Dubois and they would become romantically involved with each other.
Meanwhile, as their lives go on separately, there might be a reason for Luscious and Cookie to get back together. In fact, in the latest trailer of the series, it can be seen that the two are back together. They are actually reminiscing what they had in the past.
Furthermore, there were also hints given by the cast and production that Luscious may make it hard for Cookie to move on. Showrunner Ilene Chaiken stated that the story will always evolve around the Lyon family. She added that whatever the show may bring, they always end up telling stories about the family.
On the other hand, Chaiken also noted who will die between Anika and Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday). This season will finally reveal the answer. She concluded that killing a character is not always the right way to let the show move on.
Other Stars to Join The Show
Empire has always been casting big stars for the show. There are already stars who are surely going to be a part of the third season. Taye Diggs will play as Angelo DuBois, while Kitty will be portrayed by Mariah Carey. Other stars include French Montana to play as Vaughn. Birdman will also be part of the upcoming season.
A report also came out that Sierra McClain will be joining the list of stars and will play the role of Nessa. Additionally, Romeo Miller might also be part of Season 3, but his has no confirmation yet.
As of this time, a lot of questions are still hanging and waiting to be answered. There will be more to the show once the third season kicks off and the biggest thing to look forward to would be the relationship of Luscious and Cookie. Will they eventually be back in each other's arms?
Season 3 of "Empire" will be released on September 21.
