Ex-Nanny Sues Usher for 6 Figures for Wrongful Termination, Unpaid Wages
A former nanny once employed by Usher has filed a lawsuit in court, stating that the R&B artist failed to pay her for overtime work before firing her last year.
Cecilia Duncan has begun legal proceedings against Usher, stating the she worked for him as a nanny for over a year without being treated properly. Usher has two children aged four and five with ex-wife Tameka Foster. He was granted full custody of both children in August of 2012.
In the lawsuit, Duncan claims that she was hired as a "part-time nanny," according to TMZ, but often worked more than 40 hours a week. The lawsuit states that Duncan was hired in December of 2010 and was often required to work overtime, but was never paid overtime wages.

The nanny said she addressed her concerns to Usher in 2011, but that he failed to make any response. After a year without resolve, Duncan was fired in September and never paid the overtime that she requested. She is now suing the singer for wrongful termination and failure to pay wages in addition to other counts, according to TMZ. A source told the publication that Duncan is seeking compensation in the amount of at least six figures.
A source connected to Usher commented on the story, accusing the nanny of false allegations. The source called that lawsuit "frivolous," according to TMZ.
Usher released his sixth studio album in 2010, just months after his divorce from Foster. His tour for the album began in November of the same year and continued until June 2011; it brought in over $70 million. In November 2011, the singer announced plans for his seventh studio album. It was released in June of 2012, three months before Duncan claims that she was wrongfully fired.
