'Fargo' Season 2 Episode 9 Spoilers: The Blumquists Survive, Hanzee Reports Back; Season 3 Time Period Revealed

There are only a couple of episodes left in the second season of FX's hit crime drama TV series "Fargo" and things are definitely getting more intense as the lives of the major characters in the story becomes even more entangled. Meanwhile, the show's boss reveals Season 3 time period.

Last week, Ed and Peggy Blumquist once again proved to the audience that they are a couple that is hard to get rid of. In fact, the butcher of Luverne and his hairdresser wife might just end up being the key to finally stop the war between the Gerhardts and the Kansas City criminal organization.

According to the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the new episode titled "The Castle," the duo will finally be in agreement with the authorities, represented by Lou and Hank. In Episode 8, Ed called Mike Milligan to tell him that he has Dodd and that he'd be willing to meet at the Motor Motel. It appears that the state trooper and the sheriff will advise Ed and Peggy to play along and be there at the rendezvous point.

Unaware of the true situation, Mike and his remaining Kitchen buddy might find a dead Dodd Gerhardt. It was a shocking turn of events when Hanzee showed up at the cabin and shot his master right up in the head.

Speaking of the Native American, the summary from TFC went on to reveal that Hanzee will report back to the Gerhardts. It would be an interesting to find out if he will tell the whole family the truth or make a cover up story about the incident.

Lou and Hank, meanwhile, will face some roadblocks as they continue their investigation over the recent chaos at Fargo.

In related news, Entertainment Weekly claimed that the popular black comedy series based on the critically-acclaimed film of the same name from the Coen brothers, will be returning on air for its third season.

As to what period of time will the new season take place, EW said that it will happen after the events of Season 1 to which actors Billy Bob Thornton (as Lorne Malvo) and Martin Freeman (as Lester Nygaard) were involved.

"It's more contemporary," showrunner Noah Hawley told EW. "It's set a couple years after season 1."

For the meantime, "Fargo" Season 2 airs this Monday, Dec. 7 at 10 p.m. on FX.
