'Fargo' Season 3 Spoilers: Executive Producers Take on 'Selfie Culture'

With the end of "Fargo" season 2, fans are already wondering what the next season could hold for the series.

The second season of "Fargo" concluded this week, finally putting an interesting end to the crimes in Sioux Falls. According to The Verge, FX President John Landgraf was able to share some details about the upcoming third season. He was joined by the executive producers of the series Noah Hawley, Warren Littlefield, and John Cameron.

It was revealed by Hawley that "Fargo" season 3 will take on the theme of "selfie-oriented culture." The season will be set in 2010 and create relevant statements in today's culture. He stated, "I like the idea what we're now living in a very selfie-oriented culture... it feels like a social dynamic that is very antithetical to the Lutheran pragmatism of the region. So many of our crime stories are based on the difficulty that people have expressing themselves and communicating... I like the idea of setting up these pragmatic and humble people against the culture of narcissism and [seeing] what that generates for us, story-wise."

Fans can expect that the third season will present a contemporary story, which is expected to evolve the series. Hawley also stated that the new season will not feature any main characters from the first season, which was set in 2006.

He also explained that fans will have to wait more than a year for the show to return. This is due to the winter setting of the series. Therefore, they would need to shoot the series during the winter. However, he explained that he has already written the first hour of the series. They will be finishing the script over the next couple of months, with hopes that they will begin filming by November 2016.

"Fargo" season 3 is slated to premiere sometime in 2017.
