'Fast 8' News: Production Officially Begins in Cuba
On Wednesday, "Fast 8" announced that production in Cuba has officially began and the announcement was made through a short clip featuring local extras who will take part in the installment.
In the short clip, the locals are seen welcoming the cast and crew of "Fast 8" into the beautiful island. By the end of the clip, the crowd cheers and gives booming applause to the camera.
In another video, Vin Diesel also took time to discuss how essential shooting in Cuba will be. He mentioned that the Torettos started first in the area, meaning Diesel' Dominic Toretto has finally stepped home.

Cinema Blend suggests that another Toretto clan member might appear in the film at some point to join Dom for his latest adventures. This is not confirmed, though, and if the storyline does appear on the script, it is yet to be revealed which actor or actress will play the role of another Toretto family member.
At the moment, there are two newbies who have signed in with the franchise: Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eastwood will be playing a role associated with Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody, while Theron is said to be the main villain.
The outlet notes that the giant franchise is making history with its eighth installment as it will be the first Hollywood studio film to shoot on the island once all negotiations are approved and shooting wraps up.
Screen Rant adds that there will also be scenes to be shot in New York and Cleveland as Diesel has confirmed earlier that he will take fans back to where everything started.
With F. Gary Gray as its director, it is also expected that the sequel will bring about new arcs that will keep the upcoming installment fresh with just the right amount of action and drama to boost the interest of moviegoers.
"Fast 8" is slated for release on April 14, 2017.
