'Fast and Furious 8' Cast Update: Brian O'Conner Will No Longer Live in Cody Walker

Fans will have to say good-bye to the most beloved character in "Fast and Furious" as it has been recently confirmed that Cody Walker won't be returning to represent his brother, Paul, in the eighth installment.

It turns out that previous rumors about Cody's return in "Fast 8" are all false and were made by fans who really want to see Brian in the film. A representative from Universal Pictures told Polygon that fans shouldn't believe the rumors about Cody's involvement in the film. "There's no truth behind it," the rep said.

The news is heartbreaking to the many fans who saw Paul live in his brother's eyes in the seventh movie. Cody stepped up to the plate and took over some scenes that Paul wasn't able to complete for "Fast 7" and his performance was deemed very crucial in the making and success of the seventh film.

However, it is now obvious that he won't be coming back to help revive Brian O'Conner and he won't even be in the movie to make his own name.

The sad news comes about two weeks after Vin Diesel finally revealed the first poster for the movie. The New York skyline is featured in the image, giving a thumbs up to the actor's previous statements that the movie will be filming in downtown NYC.

Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that some scenes will be shot in Cuba, while other locations have not been determined just yet. Other details have yet to be revealed, but with news that Brian's memories will possibly not be relived in "Fast 8," some fans expressed disappointment.

The shock is understandable since Paul's character has largely become a pivotal part of the storyline. Without the actor nor his brother to join the set, it is easy to speculate that fans won't see Brian in the film after all.

"Fast 8" is expected to premiere sometime in April 2017, with Diesel reprising his role as Dominic Toretto.
