'Fast and Furious 8' Update, Cast News: Ludacris Shares Behind-The-Scenes Snaps; Charlize Theron to Play Villain?

Rapper/actor Ludacris recently shared several behind-the-scenes snaps and videos of his "Fast 8" character, Tej Parker. The "Crash" actor, whose casting in the eighth "Fast & Furious" installment marks his fifth appearance in the franchise, took part in a costume fitting for the upcoming film and documented it for his Instagram followers.

"Fitting today for my Tej character in Fast 8," he captioned the first photo. "Tune in with me today this should be interesting."

After his 25th costume change, he wrote, "I'm bout to say the hell with this s–t!. They're only going to use like 5 of these any damn way. #nowthatsludicrous"

He also shared a photo to express how he felt after the entire process. "Pretty much how I'm looking after outfit change number 70 of #fast8 fitting," he wrote.

Meanwhile, seemingly in accordance with the current Hollywood trend of actresses taking on traditionally male roles, word is spreading that "Fast 8" could be getting itself a lone female villain. According to Deadline, which broke the news, sources report that "Fast 8" director F. Gary Gray and screenwriter Chris Morgan are drafting a female character as the film's main villain and that they already have an actress in mind to take on the role: "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Charlize Theron.

Variety has substantiated this report, saying that Theron has already received an offer to appear in "Fast 8." Although it could not confirm the status of the negotiations, the magazine also reported that Universal is "eager" to include the actress in the film's ensemble cast.

As with the addition of actor Dwayne Johnson in "Fast Five," it may be that Universal is counting on Theron joining the cast not only for "Fast 8" but for the rest of the franchise.

"Fast 8" is the first installment in a reported "Fast & Furious" trilogy, with the ninth and tenth films dropping in 2019 and 2021.

"Fast 8" hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
