Executive Producer Dave Erickson told Cinema Blend, "We'll see a woman who really comes of age and hopefully regains her connection with her mother and steps into more of an adult role."

What Will Happen With Travis Gone?

According to Erickson, Travis' absence will be Alicia's trigger to take more responsibility in the group. Despite the fact that she got the group in trouble earlier in the season, Alicia is expected to take on a leadership role. Her relationship with Madison (Kim Dickens) is also going to progress as the season continues.

Is Daniel Alive?

Aside from Alicia's storyline, there is alot of speculations regarding the fate of Daniel (Rueben Blades). Erickson said that they hope to bring him back later in the season.

"My hope is that we will see him resurrected in season 3 in an organic way. I think there's more story to tell with that character and also more story to tell in that father/daughter relationship," he revealed.

The mid-season finale showed Daniel seemingly burning in the fire he started in the Hacienda. The incident will greatly affect Ofelia, resulting to her character development.

He said, "That's going to spin Ofelia specifically in a new direction for the back half. From my perspective, in terms of the arc of the show, this is not the last we see of Daniel Salazar. He will be done for the season. We won't be seeing Daniel in the back half, but my hope is we will see the return of Daniel in season 3."

"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2 is expected to return on AMC on Aug. 21.
