'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Showrunner Teases Upcoming Confrontation, Major Midseason Cliffhanger
The survivors aboard the Abigail in AMC's "Fear The Walking Dead" are starting to get a clearer picture of the extent of the zombie infestation around them.
In the season 2 premiere, they found out that being at sea was not much safer than being on land. In the previous episode, they also discovered that the infestation has spread far from Los Angeles. The survivors also came upon a family on an island, and when Madison (Kim Dickens) tried to bring a young child onboard the Abigail, she came up against Strand (Colman Domingo), who said the child was "dead weight."
According to "Fear the Walking Dead" showrunner Dave Erickson, the next episode will feature another confrontation, this one based on Daniel (Rubén Blades) uncovering Strand's mysterious destination.

"We're going to have a confrontation," Erickson told Entertainment Weekly, "because this information that Daniel has procured, the map that he has found, and his realization that Mexico is in their future is going to be information that he can't keep to himself."
According to the "FTWD" showrunner, viewers will get a clearer picture of what Strand has up his sleeve. So far, no one knows why Strand is heading to Mexico nor who it was that Strand was talking to and planning to meet up with. But the next episodes, according to Erickson, will soon shed some light on these issues.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Erickson also hinted at what's ahead in the show's sophomore season. According to the "FTWD" boss, season 2 will leave fans with a midseason cliffhanger that will surely have them guessing as the show takes a short hiatus.
"I look at it as three chapters: We had the six-episode season one and we're broken in two — seven episodes for the first half and eight for the back half — of season two," Erickson said. "You want something monumental that will beg people to come back."
