'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date Announcement: Square Enix's Invitation to Miss Universe for March Event Doesn't Go Down Well
Square Enix has just invited Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach to its big event in March, where the company is expected to announce the "Final Fantasy XV" release date, but fans are reportedly not pleased with what happened.
Pia Wurtzbach, who is an actress, model, and reigning Miss Universe 2015, has just gotten invited to Square Enix's grand March event after she announced that she is a fan of the "Final Fantasy" game. However, fans seem to be unhappy with the company's decision to invite the beauty queen to the event where the release date of "Final Fantasy XV" will be announced, according to Morning News USA.
In a Twitter message, Square Enix extended the invitation to Wurtzbach to the said event, Game Spot reports.
"We hear you're a Final Fantasy fan! If you want to come to our big FFXV event in March, let us know!"
Wurtzbach, on the other hand, enthusiastically replied to the message. She also asked for a Phoenix Down, an item in the game that can be used to revive characters that have been knocked out.
The invitation, however, has stirred negative reactions among fans online. Some fans feel bad that the tickets have already been sold out, but one was readily made available to Miss Universe 2015. Twitter user @Dhalmel questioned the "special treatment" given to Wurtzbach, the report relays.
Meanwhile, Wurtzbach has not yet confirmed her attendance in Square Enix's event next month.
The actress and model had earlier revealed that she is a "closet gamer" and that she began playing "Final Fantasy VIII." During her Reddit AMA a few weeks ago, Wurtzbach also said her favorite character in the game is Quistis.
Square Enix game director Hajime Tabata had earlier announced that they will unveil the real "Final Fantasy XV" and its release date during the big March event. The game is expected to be rolled out to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year.
