There are rumors that Elsa, played by Idina Menzel, will receive a romantic interest in the upcoming film. The speculations even suggested that Olaf might be Elsa's love interest in "Frozen 2." However, there are a lot of fans supporting the idea of giving Elsa a female love interest. In fact, even the actress herself revealed that she is in support of her character having a girlfriend in the upcoming film.

During her red carpet appearance in the Billboard Music Awards, Menzel referred to the ongoing social media trend #GiveElsaAGirlfriend and explained that she was willing to take on the idea. She said, "I think it's great. Disney's just gotta contend with that. I'll let them figure that out."

She added that if that were to happen, she would be happy to continue playing the role as it has changed her life completely.

Meanwhile, there has yet to be any details regarding what the plot will entail. However, Menzel's co-star, Kristen Bell, recently spoke to Collider about the progress of "Frozen 2."

She said, "They've just written it and they're still doing tweaks, but I think we should be recording this month. The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one."
