"Madonna is a wonderful influence on me,” she told Britain’s Sunday Mirror. “I feel blessed to have grown up with a powerful, blonde woman to show us the ropes. It's all down to her that I'm able to do what I do.”

Lady Gaga has often been compared to Madonna because of her over-the-top fashion and raunchy material.

However, it has been said that GaGa’s latest single “Born This Way,” is a blatant rip-off from Madonna’s hit single “Express Yourself.”

According to Popeater.com the comparison between the two songs was hard to ignore.

“The buzz has sent the Internet aflutter, with "Madonna," "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" all trending on Twitter, and headlines from The Atlantic ("Is Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' a Rip-Off of Madonna's 'Express Yourself'?") to the Washington Post ("Lady Gaga's New Song, 'Born This Way,' Premieres Online. We think Madonna Will Like It") drawing the comparison.”

In a response to the two songs resemblance Lady Gaga called the comparisons “completely ridiculous” in an interview with NME magazine.

"I swear to you. I am not stupid enough to put out a record and be that moronic," she said. “I've written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I'm getting one over on everybody? That's retarded. What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about."
