Galaxy Note 6 Release Date, News & Update: Upcoming Phone to Look Like Galaxy S7 Edge, Renders Show
Recently released renders of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 6 reveal that the upcoming Samsung product resembles the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Some leaked schematics of the gadget showed that the Galaxy Note 6 could have a dimension of 6.04 x 2.90 x 0.31 inches with a build and design that is close to the Galaxy S7 Edge, Tech Times noted. It could also come with a 5.7-inch or a 5.8-inch screen.
The renders also showed that the upcoming release will come with an S Pen, a USB-C port and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The USB-C port allows faster charging for devices unlike the old micro-USB port.
Aside from these features, the Galaxy Note 6 may also maintain a fingerprint scanner but also adds an iris scanner capability for users. Forbes explained that the phablet will have sensors on the top of the device so users can simply look at this and open their phones. This new technology may also end the addition of fingerprint sensors on phones because they may not be needed at all.
The same report also mentioned that a larger battery that could last for several hours is also expected to come with the new Samsung Galaxy Note 6. Tech experts are expecting a 4,200 mAh battery pack for the upcoming phone, a big leap from the 3000 mAH of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
ITPro ditched that the expected release will have a Samsung Exynos CPU, which would be faster than what runs the Samsung Galaxy S7. It will also reportedly be armed with a great camera that can shoot photos better than the highly praised S7. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is said to have a shooter that can produce good photos even in low-light.
As for the memory, Forbes said an additional 50 percent RAM is also expected for the phone. Users will also have the option to expand their memory by as much as 256GB through a micro-SD slot. However, the most exciting offering of the Galaxy Note 6 could be the possibility of it being water resistant.
In addition, NDTV Gadgets said the name of the phone is still being decided by the company. It claimed that Samsung could do away with a Galaxy Note 6 and immediately jump to a Galaxy Note 7 installment.
Though there is still nothing definite on its release date, the same report said it could be released this August before the unveiling of a new iPhone model. It is estimated to cost around $930 when it comes out of the market.
