Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 9 Preview: Watch HBO Go for 'The Watchers on the Wall' (Preview Video)

Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 9 airs on HBO on Sunday night, with fans desperate to see what happens to Tyrion after he was given a death sentence in Episode 8. The episode titled "The Watchers on the Wall" will air on TV on the HBO network at 9 p.m. ET.

In episode 8 last week, Prince Oberyn Martell fought on behalf of Tyrion Lannister in the trial by combat against giant-like Ser Gregor Clegane, also known as The Mountain.

In the climax of last week's episode Prince Oberyn had the better of the Mountain, and was looking to force a confession out of him for murdering and raping his sister. With the Mountain on his back dying on the floor it looked like Tyrion had been saved.

However, a sudden twist that left fans stunned saw the Mountain manage to grab hold of Prince Oberyn, and just before he died himself he managed to bring Oberyn's life to a bloody end.

Pedro Pascal who plays Oberyn said following the episode: "People love the brutal honestly of the show, that is uncompromising," according to Vulture.

He added, "I got all 10 episodes of the season before I flew out to Europe, and I read them voraciously. I'm a fan of the show, and I was reading them like a regular fan first, you know? And I read all the episodes back to back, really, really quickly. And when I got to my final episode, I was really impressed by how similar it was to the scene in the books."

He has also spoken about where his character went wrong in the battle: "Getting too close and being too far delivered by his own passions. Because ultimately, it is about defeating this man who raped and killed his sister, but before he can do that, before he can end this man's life, he needs a confession. He needs to hear it. And interesting, I had this great conversation with ['GOT' star] Lena Headey about Oberyn's journey, and how even though it ends badly, he still hears the confession, you know? I don't even need to go on after that once it's been said out loud," according to Entertainment Weekly.
