'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Spoilers: Director Says Tyrion's Trial is 'Phenomenal'
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO this Sunday with a brand new episode entitled "The Laws of God and Men."
Last week, fans of the hit fantasy-adventure television series watched as Cersei swayed members of the jury against her brother Tyrion who is accused of killing King Joffrey on his wedding day. With the cards stacked against him, "The Laws of God and Men" will reveal if Tyrion will survive the trial in Westeros, and who he can rely on; if anyone.
Divulging more about the highly-anticipated trial, "GOT" director Alik Sakharov promises fans the event will captivate viewers this Sunday.
"Peter Dinklage is phenomenal during the trial," the director teased, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "He is just an incredible star and shines through."
Dinklage earned has earned both an Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award for his role at Tyrion on "GOT." While Sakharov did not reveal any details about the upcoming episode, the director assured fans it will be pivotal for Tyrion.
"The scenes associated with the trial are magnificent," he said. "We were able to get some phenomenal performances."
In the preview for "The Laws of God and Men," Tyrion is seen facing his accusers that include his father, Tywin (Charles Dance) in the throne room when Tywin yells, "Do you wish to confess?" The scene also includes other members of the judging panel Prince Oberyn and Jaime Lannister, and it appears as though the bond of brotherhood between Tyrion and Jaime are tested. This Sunday will also pick back up on Theon Greyjoy as well as Khaleesi's ever-expanding reign.
"Game of Thrones" airs on HBO Sundays at 9 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "The Laws of God and Men" is as follows: "Tyrion faces his father in the throne room; Stannis and Davos put their faith in a new strategy; Daenerys' sphere of influence expands."
