'Game of Thrones' Season 6 News: HBO Announced Premiere Date; Cast Member Drops Some Spoilers

It's finally settled: HBO's hit fantasy drama TV series "Game of Thrones" will premiere its highly-anticipated Season 6 on Sunday, April 24.

According to the report from Time.com, the network's comedy "Silicon Valley" and its companion show, "Veep," will return on the same night, along with the Emmy-winning show.

As usual, plot details of the new season are still being kept under wraps. However, GoT director Jeremy Podeswa previously told Deadline that most of the major characters in the new season will get featured with "amazing" storylines and that the arcs will now start to intersect as the season progresses.

"I think the way the characters converge is something that started last season, where characters who have never met before were suddenly meeting, and the worlds are coming together, and the world is getting a little smaller in a way. That happens more and more this season," Podeswa said in the interview.

Furthermore, fans will find the new season to be faster in pace as compared to the previous ones. According to Podeswa, the show will "get right into the story and it's very propulsive narratively." Overall, the whole season is heading towards a very exciting direction, he added.

Earlier this week, cast member Natalie Dormer revealed to E!News the status in which her character, Queen Margaery, will be found.

In the interview, she told the media outlet that there will be less verbal showdown between the Tyrell clan member and that of Lena Headey's alter-ego, Cersei Lannister.

According to her, the mother Queen won't be Margaery's "problem" anymore.

Fans will find Margaery still locked up by the Faith Militant who nabbed her towards the end of Season 5. Her counterpart, on the other hand, got freed from prison but had to take the "walk of shame" on her way back to the Keep.

Find out how these things unfold when "Game of Thrones" return to HBO.
