'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Plot Spoilers, News: Filming To Wrap Up Next Week
It looks like fans of the hugely-popular hit drama TV series "Game of Thrones" can now start counting the days before the show returns to the small screen for its sixth season. Meanwhile, cast members speak about the script for Season 6.
Sources for GoT fansite WinterIsComing.net recently revealed that production for the highly-anticipated new season is now getting closer to its end in the next few days.
"Season 6 filming of Game of Thrones officially set to end next week in Ireland," and insider for the publication said.
As of the moment, filming is still happening at the Magheramorne quarry set, WIC added. Tourists hoping to get a glimpse on what is happening behind the camera were told not to get closer in the aforementioned location. For starters, the quarry is an alternative for the Castle Black where the Brotherhood of The Watch resides in the series.
In related news, cast member Gwendoline Christie speak up about the writing of the new season. In her interview with the people from ComicBook.com, the 37-year-old shared her admiration for the new installment.
"I think the scripts for the new season of 'Game of Thrones' are really, truly brilliant, and it is my absolute pleasure to be a part of it," the English actress, who will be appearing in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," told the website.
She went on to express her adoration and love for playing her character Brienne of Tarth.
Despite keeping mum on the plot details, fans may already know that Season 6 will see the world of the characters getting smaller and smaller.
"I think the way the characters converge is something that started last season, where characters who have never met before were suddenly meeting, and the worlds are coming together, and the world is getting a little smaller in a way," director Jeremy Podeswa - who was tapped to helm the first couple of episodes in Season 6 - told Deadline this August.
"Game of Thrones" Season 6 is slated to premiere in April 2016 on HBO. Stay tuned for more updates.
