'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Shares Her Experience as Daenerys
The fan favorite "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke was recently featured on Vogue Australia, which revealed her experience as an HBO actress.
Clarke, who plays the role of Khaleesi in the HBO series "Game of Thrones," was seen on the cover over next month's Vogue issue. In addition, the magazine was able to speak to Clarke about what it was like portraying the role of Daenerys, a character who fans love.
She explained that when she first took on the role of Daenerys, she was not as confident as she was now. Clarke said that she felt a lot of pressure during the early days of "Game of Thrones." She said, "There was a kind of personal intensity that went along with it because I was playing a character already loved by so many people who had read the books, and just making sure that she was what people were hoping she would be."

After a while, her nervousness left, as her portrayal of Daenerys was loved by many fans. However, despite this, Clarke explained that it was hard for many fans to recognize her without her iconic hair.
She shared, "If I'm walking down the street with Kit [Harington] or Gwen [Christie] or anyone from the show, fans will be like: 'Can you just take a picture of us please?' And I'm like: 'Sure, I can.'"
She also stated that even other celebrities do not recognize her without her wig. Clarke revealed that only diehard fans of the series were aware of what she looked like in real life.
However, she explained that moments like those are what keep her humble. Clarke said that it keeps her grounded, as well as grateful to have the opportunity to play the beloved "Game of Thrones" character.
With that, fans will be able to see her when "Game of Thrones" returns on HBO this Apr. 24.
