'Game Of Thrones' Star Hints Of A New Sparring Partner In Season 6
Things are about to get even more complicated, especially for Margaery Tyrell, when the new season of HBO's hit TV drama series "Game of Thrones" premieres next year.
Actress Natalie Dormer, who plays the aforementioned character, revealed in a recent interview a great deal about the Tyrell clan member.
For those who missed it, Margaery was arrested and imprisoned by the Faith Militant for the false testimony she put up for her brother Loras (Finn Jones) during the Holy Inquest. Fans will also get to see her with a new scene partner.
"I've actually had a new sparring partner this season because Margaery is in jail and Cersei [Lena Headey], obviously, after the walk of shame got back into the Keep," the 33-year-old English actress said in an interview with TIME magazine.
Fan site WatcherOnTheWall.com was quick to drop their theory as to who could this new person be. According to WOTW, Dormer could be referring to either Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Jaime Lannister or Jonathan Pryce's the High Sparrow.
As pointed out, Coster-Waldau was spotted filming in Girona, Spain where the actress was also seen. Although it can't be blatantly declared that the two actors did a scene together, it is assumed that Jaime will be having a conversation with Margaery.
On the other hand, Watcher On The Wall cited the ongoing rumors of Margaery's conversion to the faith. With this, it is also likely that she'd be having a lot of talk time with the leader itself.
Dormer went on to reveal in the same interview that author George R.R. Martin, to whom his books the show is based from, will still be playing a huge part in the development of Season 6 plot.
"[Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are] not completely absent of George's influence because George is a producer on the show, and they all had a pow-wow a couple of years ago," she told TIME. "They know where it's got to go and what George's intentions for the characters are. But they are just filling in the gaps."
"Game Of Thrones" Season 6 is slated to premiere April on HBO.
