The current season of the series has dwelled on Maya and Riley's friendship and how it has changed when the two girls ended up having feelings for the same guy, Lucas. While it has yet to be resolved, it was revealed that it will not be the only issue tackled in season 3.

It was stated that fans can expect to see more of the ensemble. The series will use the upcoming season to transition into a deeper understanding of the other characters' lives. The twitter account of the "Girl Meets World" writers revealed this with the post, "Relationships aside, BMW went to high school and a good show got better. Scripts in, same happening here. More Zay, more Smackle, more Josh."

News also revealed that the third season of "Girl Meets World" will begin filming later into the year, which means that it could air during the spring or summer.

Meanwhile, fans can catch the upcoming episode of "Girl Meets World" season 2, titled "Girl Meets Money." It will be centered on Farkle and his family's financial problems, which will give fans a lesson on financial responsibility.

The episode is expected to air on Disney Channel this Jan. 22.
