Golden State Warriors Rumors: Klay Thompson Thinks He's NBA's Best Shooting Guard
Klay Thompson knows for a fact that the shooting guard position in the NBA is loaded with talent. When asked who for him should be considered the best, he paused for a moment to think about it; the answer though was kind of expected. Obviously, he'd vote for himself.
He did think about the likes of former MVP runner-up James Harden of the Houston Rockets and emerging Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler. He really believes in himself and what's not to like about that, right? "I'm going to go with myself. We're 26-1," he said on Saturday when asked by the Bay Area News Group.
Thompson, along with reigning MVP Stephen Curry, forms the best backcourt duo in the league today. They blitz through opponents as if they're a pair of tornadoes ripping off the roofs of homes they pass onto. At 26-1, the Warriors are fueled by these two, who call themselves "Splash Brothers."

Thompson, a son of a former NBA player, is currently averaging 19.3 points a game. In a young career, he already achieved a lot compared to many players in his age and generation. He's an All-Star and a member of the All-NBA third team last season. But what really makes his case the best shooting guard in the NBA is the fact that he literally shoots his way into stardom, averaging 47.3 percent and making 43.7 percent of his three-point attempts. Those numbers are his career best. Perhaps the most exciting highlight for Thompson early this season is a 43-point game against the Phoenix Suns last Thursday.
Obviously, he wouldn't choose any other player to name as the best point guard except for his buddy Curry. While Thompson is currently listed as the third best three-point shooter in the league right now in terms of shots made with 80, Curry is ahead of him, specifically on the number 1 spot with 131.
