'Grey's Anatomy' News: Trailer Reveals Meredith Being Choked In Brutal Attack
In the past few weeks, ABC unveiled a shocking promo trailer for the mid-season premiere of the hit medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12. It briefly showed a glimpse of the Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) dropping on the floor bearing the look of a person who is in an utter panic while the whole Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is in great disarray. An even more chilling scene of the surgeon gasping for breath as she is carried out in a stretcher was also shown.
Fans of the popular Shondaland show were quick to voice out their concern for the beloved character. Will the widow be saying goodbye just like the lovable Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) did in the Season 11 finale?
To clear off the air of doubt, a report from TVLine cited fellow cast member Kelly McCreary revealing the real score of the scene.

According to the actress who plays Maggie in the series, that particular scene is part of the mid-season opener which will find Meredith getting attacked by someone.
She did, however, fail to mention the name or identity of the perpetrator. And just this week, the network once again dropped a teaser about the Mer-centric episode titled "The Sound of Silence."
It was discovered in the video that the attacker is a patient at the hospital. As revealed in the clip, the man got up and chokes Meredith for reasons that are yet to be known again.
Sharing further details about the Denzel Washington-helmed segment, McCreary went on to tell TVLine that, "As bad as things have gotten for Meredith, this is bad in a whole different way."
Sarah Drew, who plays the part of Dr. April Kepner, also told Entertainment Weekly in an interview:
"She's attacked really brutally, really viciously and in a completely surprising, weird way."
