'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 News, Spoilers: Jerrika Hinton Teases More 'Interesting,' 'Intimate' Scenes With Wilmer Valderrama

The next episodes of ABC's long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" will further explore the blossoming romance between Dr. Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) and her former patient Kyle Diaz (guest star Wilmer Valderrama).

Valderrama, who is best known for playing Fez in "That '70s Show," is currently guest-starring in a recurring arc on "Grey's Anatomy." He plays the role of an aspiring musician whose career was threatened by a hand tremor. In a previous episode, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) performed a risky surgery on Valderrama's character, with Stephanie tasked to keep him calm during the procedure. It wasn't long before Kyle began working his charms on the young doctor.

Hinton recently spoke to EXTRA about Stephanie and Kyle's flirtation and hinted that it could become something more serious as the season approaches its conclusion.

"As we work together more and more, things get more and more interesting and intimate," the actress told EXTRA. "We're going to explore that relationship. He was a former patient of hers. I think you may start to see those boundaries come into play."

According to the synopsis for the next "Grey's Anatomy" episode, titled "You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side," Stephanie will have "difficulty with boundaries."

As the doctor begins to question where she and Kyle stand, will she decide to pursue the romance or opt to drop the whole thing?

In an interview with Cosmopolitan.com in March, Hinton said that Stephanie's storyline will feature a surprising twist near the end of season 12. As the actress told the website, a major plot point in the current season will see Steph "mak[e] a decision that I, as an actor, as a human being [would not make]."

"I got on the phone with the writers a lot, and I was like, 'You're really having her do this?'" Hinton shared.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
