'Grimm' Season 5 Episode 7 Spoilers: Is Eve Really Juliette? Series Co-Creator Explains
The highly anticipated return of NBC's hit supernatural drama TV series "Grimm" for its Season 5B is finally here and fans can't wait to know who exactly saved Nick and company from the apparent danger back in the first half of the season. Meanwhile, will the network greenlight a sixth season of the David Giuntoli-led series?
Fans were quite surprised to see Bitsie Tulloch once again in the episode that aired before the show closed shop for the holidays. As fans may remember, Tulloch's character got shot during the season four finale. However, just when things looked bad for the homicide detective and his cohorts, Hank (Russell Hornsby), Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) and Cpt. Renard (Sasha Roiz), as they were all in the brink of danger, a woman wearing a platinum wig appears. She was introduced as "Eve." Could the latter be a different person or is it just Juliette assuming a different identity?
Apparently, fans won't have to wait for the show to air this Friday with the episode called "Eve of Destruction" to know the answer.
According to what co-creator David Greenwalt explained to TVLine, although Eve has the looks and memory of Juliette, that doesn't mean she's still the same person everyone knows her to be.
"It's not really Juliette anymore. It's this new character, Eve, who has not been brainwashed exactly, but she's been through some incredibly tough training where they broke her down to nothing. She's basically a super Hexenbiest weapon for Hadrian's Wall to fight Black Claw," Greenwalt said.
In related news, a report from OregonLive.com confirmed the show's bright future in the small screens.
Despite the apparent low ratings in the current season, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said that things are still looking up for the show.
"We like 'Grimm.' It hasn't been renewed yet, but it's a show we love, and it's actually a big international success for our company." Greenblatt told Oregon Live during the Television Critics Association Winter press tour event.
"I think 'Grimm' isn't going anywhere. Which is a hedging sort of statement. We haven't decided. But we like 'Grimm,'" the network executive added.
"Grimm" Season 5B premieres Jan. 29, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
